Some insurance companies do not sell through independent brokers.
It’s cool to reach out to them, but make sure you talk to an independent broker, too. (Someone who is able and incentivized to sell you a policy from one of many insurance companies.)
State Farm, USAA, Northwestern Mutual and TIAA-CREF are examples of companies that don’t sell through independent brokers.
If you want to check their prices, you’ll need to contact one of their employees directly.
Frankly, these companies are rarely competitive on term life insurance pricing but - if you want to check them - by all means do!
Our interactive Life Insurance Guide can suggest brokers who’ve passed our rigorous screen process, and help you get a sense of what coverage might cost you.
